We had family visiting this weekend and spent a special day at the Little Rock Zoo. Mason used the power chair so he could save his strength and still be independent, and Dawson enjoyed a few rides on the chair too.
With Duchenne, every bit of energy matters… saving strength now means Mason can enjoy more of the day, instead of being worn out from the walk. We’ve been told it’s not about how you get to the exhibits, but about being there… and that couldn’t be more true.
Walking long distances just isn’t possible with Duchenne, and while that reality is hard, it won’t steal our joy. This disease is cruel, but it will never take away our love, our fight, or our hope. We’ll keep moving forward, making memories, and finding strength… because Duchenne will not bring this family down!
